For Kwella

by

I pick you up

and spin you around.

You run through the dirt

to the top of the mound.

A smile and extended hands

laughter is common

in all of the lands.

No need for words

because play will entice

That look in your eyes

yes, that will suffice

!5 years from now, your daughter will read this and feel blessed to have you as her mother.

Well thank you, but Kwella isn’t my daughter. Just a child I met while I spent time in Morocco, who I hope to see again one day. Enshallah.
